I don’t have a lot of experience with laptop coolers. The only other one I had owned was an Antek which quit after about 2 weeks usage. I really am impressed with this one – it quietly cools my 17″ Dell all the way not just to warm but to cool. It holds it in place securely and slants my laptop at a great angle for extensive typing. I am very pleased and will be buying one for my daughter and my husband for their laptops.

Without getting too detailed, I’ve gone through at least one variety (type, style, brand, price range, etc, etc) of laptop cooling devices during the past year. I basically gave up on the entire concept, which was somewhat a burden, since you tend to start developing an irrational paranoia that using your laptop without one (especially while doing something seemingly taxing on it, e.g. using an HDMI output to watch something or play a PC game on a 1080p TV) will cause it to explode or something.

That was prior to getting this puppy. It’s a vast improvement over any brand or style that I have used, including other Belkin models. Just about every complaint I had with other brands or designs seems to have inspired its features, and…

You know what? I’m gonna shut up before I jinx myself and everyone who so much as thinks about getting one.

I’ve had this cooling fan since December, and it worked fine. It didn’t completely cool off my laptop, but it helped a bit. Unfortunately, it just stopped working a couple of days ago. It’s still helpful to keep my hot laptop off of my lap, but I’m disappointed that it didn’t even last a whole year.
